Over the years, one of the biggest concerns I've heard from students is that they weren't sure whether they were taking too long, moving too quickly or doing the right things each day. How much question practice should they do? How much studying?
To address that, we created the study plan. When you sign up with us, we'll book a lesson with an instructor who will generate a personal study plan for you. It looks at your actual availability, your intended timeframe and things such as exam venues and bookings. Together, we'll work out the timeframe you need to be looking at.
It also sets out what you need to do each day—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday—to work towards that goal. We always include at least one day off a week for welfare and wellbeing. ATPL study is intensive and mentally exhausting. You've got to have a day off; you've got to have friends when this is done!
We put the plan in place, run through it with you and keep tabs on it with you. If something happens or changes, we can generate a new one together. The whole point is that you know where you are in the journey and what to do each day. If you know the steps, you can follow them towards where you need to be.
You can also recognise when you're falling behind or moving ahead. It's a little like pilot monitoring: if we know what we're measuring against, we can monitor progress and take action.
It's a structured guide because we know it can sometimes feel a bit rudderless. If you'd like more information, or want to get in touch, please do. We'd love to talk to you.
