A subject Explained

What is the LAPL(A) (Light Aircraft Pilot License)?

The Light Aircraft Pilot License for aeroplanes (LAPL (A)), is the license which allows a person to fly their family and friends or simply fly as a hobby. This is different from the UK PPL, as the LAPL license is restricted to UK airspace, and allows only a maximum of 4 people onboard (Including you).

The LAPL has slightly less requirements than the PPL making it slightly cheaper to obtain. Unlike the PPL which is often used as a steppingstone towards a commercial licnse, the LAPL is intended for hobby pilots only.
